Tuesday night in Manhattan, it's party time at Lit . I'm spinning with my good pals Denny Le Nimh and 24 Court of Hot Pink , and insanity will doubtless ensue. Insanity of the type that involves hot people jumping around, drinking, loud music, and general excessive good times. (Because this is New York Goddamn City, and that's how we roll.) -PAR

Springtime's in full effect and the city seems amplified, every element vying for attention... Iced coffee and gin & tonics provide the fuel for long hours of running about, working and playing and medicating oneself with pop music. Catch some sunshine at lunch in a park somewhere, a late night dinner and a few hours of sleep before starting another go-round. Attempting to plan DJ gigs, parties, and other fun to balance out the duties of life and survival. The next "Meanwhile" at Lit is coming up in nine days, and I've finally firmed up the DJ lineup (which is AWESOME, by the way). The rest of the coming week looks to be filled with designing and printing flyers for said Lit party, finishing up a couple sound-design-type projects, and possibly taking a one-day roadtrip to Charlottesville and back... But for now, need to stop talking and get back to doing. More reports later. -PAR

Another great party at Lit yesternight. Lauren threw down another blinding set of ass-crazy electro jams, people danced and drank (as they should), and after a rather shaky set to start the night, I came on again around two and somehow found a groove that couldn't be denied. Played everything from LCD Soundsystem to Audio Two to A Tribe Called Quest to Luke Vibert to Jamie Lidell to Grandmaster and Melle Mel , and pretty much whatever else I could fit in. In all, a fantastic evening. Thanks to all who came out, and especially to Ms. Flax , my partner in DJ mischief. (Now, on to setting up next month's party. This Tuesday evening in Manhattan, it's the March installment of "Meanwhile...", downstairs at Lit . And it's gonna be incredible. Last month was such a blinding success, we're bringing back our special guest DJ Lauren Flax to tear it up again. My co-conspirator Justin won't be around, so it's gonna be longer sets and less people in the DJ booth... Just Flax and myself all evening. Two crazy kids playing hot tunes at each other until last call. Drinking, loud music, a dark space, the occcasional flashing light, and a bunch of people dancing their faces off. In other words, a party you don't want to miss. -PAR
